What is TonePay?
TonePay is an automated telephone credit and debit card payment system. It allows people phoning in to make card payments for goods or service without any operator intervention. This means the service is available 24 hours per day 365 days per year.

Do I need a merchant account with the bank?
Yes, you will need to have a merchant account with an acquiring bank

What does TonePay Cost?
TonePay is a Bureau service and does not require any hardware to operate. This means the set-up costs are minimal and the running costs start at only £500 per month. 

How do I get started?
Simply contact Adelante or complete the request for more information.

How does TonePay work?
Customers wishing to make a payment are routed to the TonePay service. The call is answered using the voice scripts we designed with you and these guide the user through the process of making a payment. Once this process is complete TonePay sends an encrypted payment request to the bank using your own merchant account and authorises the payment. Typically you receive the payment from your bank 4 days later.

What about Chip and PIN?
TonePay is a card holder not present solution and therefore Chip and PIN authentication is not required.

Can the system validate that customers account numbers or reference numbers are correct?
Yes, this is set-up during the installation process if required.

Where is TonePay hosted?
In a secure co-location facility in Newbury.

Does TonePay store my customers credit card details?
No card details are stored on the TonePay server .
