DebitSmart
Any e-payments solution is designed to supplement the councils traditional payment collection methods. Due to its low collection costs and ease of use, Direct Debits are currently the preferred method of collection of recurring bills such as council tax and non-domestic rates.
DebitSmart is a paperless Direct Debit set-up facility. This allows members of the public to either visit your website or contact your call centre and set-up the direct debit mandate online. Alternatively, when members of the public attempt to make a card payment for certain payment types, they can be offered the opportunity to complete the mandate instead.
Once a mandate has been completed it is stored within the LogSmart database and uploaded to your existing direct debit
